This tutorial is written in and for PSP Version 7 and assumes you have a
working knowledge of PSP.
Any resemblence to another tutorial is purely coincidental.
All screenshots are resized for quick loading.

For this tutorial you will need the following
Paint Shop Pro, get it HERE
My Shape Template HERE

1 Open the mexiwave template in PSP, duplicate and close the original
This may look like an empty canvas, but the selections are in the alpha channel.

2. Activate the template - Selections > Load from alpha channel > select the outer square > OK
Fill this with a colour or pattern of your choice, I used a gold pattern.....select none.

3. Selections > Load from alpha channel > select inner square > OK
Again, fill this with a colour or pattern of your choice, I used solid black.
Add a slight inner bevel before deselecting.....select none.

4. Open a new canvas, wide enough to fit your name into....mine was W500 x H200 which will fit 7 squares
This can be resized later.

NOTE; If the square template is too large, resize to your liking before continuing.

5. Copy your square template on to the blank canvas as a new layer,
do this till you have a square for each letter of your name, making sure they are all on separate layers.

6. Line them all up as straight as possible.....I found it helpful using the grid behind as a guide.

7. On the layer palette, rename each layer with whatever letter you will be placing on them
My layer palette looked like this

8. Now making sure you are on the correct layer, add the letters of your name to the correct squares.
I added a smiley to the 2 end squares to make mine a bit longer.

9. Activate the first square in your name and move it so that it is halfway up the next letter, like below

10. Merge visible > save as mexi1 in PSP format

11. Undo merge > Undo move layer till is is back in position,

12. Activate the next letter and move it halfway up as in step 9, merge visible and save as mexi2 /psp format.

13. Repeat the above steps with all of your letters.

14. When you have finished that, Launch Animation Shop.

15. Use the animation wizard to bring your frames together.
window 1 =
window 2 =
window 3 =
window 4 =
window 5 =
Click add images and browse to find your mexi's,
Make sure your images are in the correct order before clicking next & finish.

16. view the animation and resize if you wish, then optimize and save as a gif *S*

Hey Presto!!! You have a Wave!!!!
