This tutorial wont give you a wonderful finished graphic but it will show you how to use the Clone tool.
We will only be using the Clone tool
and nothing else.
Apart from the undo button if you are not happy with your cloning.
The clone is great for getting rid of marks & scratches on old photographs but today we will be working on a larger image for practice purposes.
Here is a pine panel which I have deliberately put spray paint on for us to clone out.
Look at the panel closely and you will see that the wood is in
rows of 3
Now look at the spray paint and match up the panels like this
In the boxes you can see that the panels behind the paint are identical....we need to clone the panels in the blank box to the other box where the paint is.
Right lets go!.......I will do the first one then give you a different one to do for the lesson.
1. Grab the Clone tool
....and set the Tool Options box as follows
2. Now RIGHT CLICK where you want to start cloning from
3. Now move over to where the second box would start
Now LEFT CLICK but keep your finger down and drag the cursor back and forth across the spray paint till it has all been cloned.
You have got to make sure you match the areas up properly or the lines on the wood will not match up.
While you are dragging the cursor, you will see a cross where you first clicked to mark the spot of the area you are copying
If you have done it correctly, you will have a perfect wood panel with no paint on.
PERFECT!!!
Here is another one for you to clone for the lesson....do not remove my Watermark, it will not interfere with the cloning
RIGHT Click and save picture as to your PC and open in PSP.
For this lesson I would like you to remove the Red Paint PSP.
Then add your name to it so that no-one else can use it for their lesson and save as JPG
Happy Cloning!!!!
