Colourising an Image
In this tutorial we will be changing the colour of a graphic using the PSP colorize feature.
There are only 3 screenshots in this tutorial but I think you will cope with it just fine
Tools we will be using
Freehand Selection Tool

Zoom Tool
Flood Fill
Save this Zip file
to your PC and open the rose image in PSP
1. Window > Duplicate....then minimise the original for later use (do not close it)
2. Grab the zoom tool
and click on your image twice to make it larger....as you can see the leaves of the rose are a paleish colour. so we are going to make the whole image more green.
3. Go to Colours > Colourize and change the settings to
PSP8 Users - Goto Adjust>Hue & Saturation>Colorize
Hue = 90
Saturation = 50.......OK
Your image should now be ALL GREEN.
4. Now for the tricky part....we are going to change the colours of the roses only.
Grab the freehand selection tool
On the tool options Palette make the settings as below
Firstly we will be working on the rose in the bottom left corner,
this is a really small rose so you may want to maximise your original rose so you can see the real colours.
With the freehand tool Left click the mouse and carefully drag the cursor round the edge of the rose leaving the leaves part out of the selection....when you are on the blank canvas it doesn't matter how close you are .....do not leave go of the mouse till you have gona all the way round the rose.
Look closely at the image below and you will see the marching ants around the edge of the rose...but not the leaves.
5. Colours > Colourize > Change the settings to
PSP8 Adjust>Hue & Saturation>Colorize
Hue = 240
Saturation = 100....OK
Now we have a tiny red rose.....Selections > Select None.
6. Repeat step 4 with the rest of the roses.....using a different colour each time you colourize.
Playing with the Hue & Saturation will give you many choices for colours.
7. Once you have coloured all your roses....go to Layers > New Raster Layer > OK > Layers > Arrange > Send to Bottom.
8. Grab your Flood Fill Tool, Set your styles foreground colour to a colour of your choice to fill the background I am using #FFFFC0 set your background styles to a colour from your roses image. left click to fill your image with the pale colour.
8.While still on your background layer go to Effects > 3D effects > Buttonize settings as follows
Height = 40
Width = 40
Opacity = 30
Transparent Edge Checked.....OK
Add your name somewhere to the image,,,this can either be a watermark or done with a fancy font ....the choice is yours.
9. Layers > Merge > Merge all flatten and save as JPG.....Voila !!!
