This is a simple tutorial on how to make a welcome card with sparkles.

Tools we will be using in this tutorial.

Tube Tool

Dropper Tool

Flood Fill

Text Tool

Here is a zip file containing 6 different flower tubes and a sparkle tube.

Save this zip file    to your pc and open all images in PSP

I find that unzipping straight to the psp tubes folder does not always work so we are going to export them.

If you dont have a zip program you can get a free evaluation copy

Start by clicking on one of your images then go to File > Export > Picture Tube.

when the box opens...give the tube a name (the first one I done was the sparkle tube)

Leave all other settings as they are...then click OK

Repeat this with all your images.

Now close all images apart from the one flower image you want to use for the tutorial,.

OK Lets Begin

1. Open a new transparent canvas 350 x 220

2. Grab the dropper tool and left click to choose a pale colour from your flower image...this will be your

background colour of your finished card.....I have chosen #A9BDA4

3. Grab the flood fill tool and click the empty canvas to fill with your colour.

4. Go to your flower image and click to highlight.....then Edit > Copy....go to your canvas, and highlight it then Edit > Paste > as a New Selection.

Do not click on the image till the flower is in the position you want it.

While the flower is still selected...(marching ants round) go to Effects > 3D Effects > Drop Shadow and use the following settings

Vertical & Horizontal 4 Opacity 70 Blur 12 Colour Black.....OK

Selections > Select None.

5. Using the dropper tool again .....right click on a darker colour from your flower image....I have chosen #496B33 this is a darker shade of green to match my background colour.

6. Grab the Text Tool and click on your card....when the text box opens, Click the little arrow on the Style colour box and

go to Null.

Type in "Welcome" in a font of your choice, the font size will depend on the font you use.

I have font "Saginaw" Size 36.....once you are happy with your text, click OK and then move the text to the position you want it.

While your text is still selected (marching ants round) add the drop shadow the same as in step 4.....selections > select none.

7. Layers > Merge > Merge All (Flatten)

8 . Image > Add Borders > Symmetric Checked > Top Line 10 > OK

You should now have a border the same colour as your text.

9. Selections > Select All > Selections > Modify > Contract > Number of Pixels 10 > OK

10. Selections > Invert......Now you will see that your full border is selected.

11. Effects > 3D Effects > Inner Bevel with the following settings

Use the drop down menu to find your frame settings....if you dont have "Frame" in your list, use the settings above....then OK

Selections > Select None.

12. Go to your layer palette and right click your background layer, go to duplicate.

Do this twice so you have 3 layers all the same

13. Highlight the bottom layer and click the glasses on the other 2 layers to make them invisible

14 Grab the Tube Tool  and on the "Tool Options Palette find your sparkle tube and set as below

15 Add a few sparkles to the layer you can see on your card

16. On the layer Palette highlight the middle layer, uncheck the glasses on that layer...Check the glasses on the bottom layer

17 Add a few sparkles to the middle layer.....then highlight the top layer, uncheck the glasses and hide the other 2 layers

18 Add a few sparkles to the top layer, then uncheck the glasses from all layers.

19 File > Save As > Floral Welcome > PSP Format

Make sure you save it to a folder you will remember.
